Our Library recently hosted the culmination of our Summer Book Club, bringing together students in Years 7 and 8 who had been invited to read Secrets of the Snakestone by Piu Dasgupta over the summer.

Students could earn extra credits by submitting their own questions for the author and writing book reviews. The book club concluded with a special webinar featuring Piu Dasgupta, giving students the exciting opportunity to hear directly from the author.

There was plenty of excitement as students tried to solve the author’s riddles and listened carefully for our school’s special shout-out! We were also delighted when one of our students’ questions about the ending of the book was answered during the webinar.

The experience was a wonderful way for new students to meet others with similar interests, share their thoughts about the book and enjoy reading as a community. It was also great to see the names of schools from across the UK appearing during the webinar and to know that our students were part of a much wider reading community.

A fantastic way to bring our summer reading to a close!
