Student Support
The structure for student support is as follows:
Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Head of Sixth Form
Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Head of Sixth Form are responsible for academic progress and pastoral care.
Tutors
Each student has their own Tutor. The Tutor support students by:
- Providing personal advice and support
- Advising students on study skills and support achievement through regular reviews of academic progress
- Supporting with career progression and applications for university or employment.
Working with Parents
Students achieve best when we all work together: student, parent/carer and teachers. In the Sixth Form, we encourage students to develop independence and responsibility for their own learning as this helps prepare them for university or employment. We provide this freedom in a very supportive context with close monitoring and guidance.
We keep parents/carers informed and up to date about their son's/daughter’s progress. To this end, students receive a termly report and are expected to attend Parents’ Evenings with their parent(s) or carer(s) twice a year.
