Welcome to our library!

Are you new to our school?

Welcome! The library is for EVERYONE. The library is for YOU.

Do I have to 'join' the library?

No - once you are a student, you are a library user automatically.

Who works for the library?

Our librarian is called Ms Swinyard and she works Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays, exclusively in the library. You can email Ms Swinyard if you have any questions about the library.

The library is usually open:

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Thursdays 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

However there is a weekly timetable, on the door of the library.

We also have a team of Student Librarians who help the library to run smoothly.

What happens in the library?

The library is a physical room in the heart of our school site, where we store books, magazines and other resources. It is also a study space where you may visit with a teacher or come in your free time for some peaceful reading or study time.

The library also exists as a community of students who love reading and learning. We have clubs, competitions, special events and space to meet like-minded students.

The library is also a curated collection of stories and information.

Where is the library? The Library is on the ground floor of the 'A' block (along with MLF, English & Maths classrooms). You can access it via the playground by the canteen. The room number is AG/01.

What do I have to look forward to in the library?

Our events are listed here.

Why not have a look at our Youtube channel?

Why not have a look at our Wakelet site?

We take part in BiblioBuzz: The Alexandra Palace Children's Book Award which you may recognize from Year 5 or 6. Find out more here.

We also have visiting authors, trips, competitions, and lots of other fun things as well as reading lessons and a quiet space to get your homework done and find new books to read and enjoy.

In Year 7 (and 8) you will have regular lessons in the library, within your regular timetabled English lessons. But you can also use the library in your free time.

We are also taking part in the Summer Reading Club. This is open to everyone starting in year 7 in September or currently in Year 7 and moving into Year 8. This year we are all reading Secrets of the Snakestone by Pias DasGupta. Find out more here!
