Back to newsYear 10 Geographers Shine in Southend Fieldwork Visit
30th Jun 2026Yesterday, our Year 10 geographers completed an outstanding day of GCSE fieldwork in Southend, demonstrating excellent focus, enthusiasm and maturity throughout the trip.
Students carried out their independent human geography investigation by interviewing members of the public to gather opinions on the recent redevelopment of Southend's town centre and seafront. Their confidence, professionalism and engagement were particularly impressive, and they represented the school exceptionally well.
A special mention goes to Yezdan, who showed excellent leadership skills while guiding his group in collecting their data, and to JC, who demonstrated great kindness by offering to help a mother carry her pushchair.
Of course, the day was not all work! Students also enjoyed some well earned time at the seaside, visiting the fairground and amusements, strolling along the beach, and treating themselves to fish and chips and ice cream.
It was a fantastic day of learning and enjoyment, and we are incredibly proud of the way our Year 10 geographers conducted themselves throughout the visit.
