Back to newsA Day of Discovery and Confidence-Building at the Old Vic
10th Nov 2025Our drama students kicked off their Take the Lead programme at the Old Vic auditorium, joining over 200 young people from schools across London. From the moment they stepped into the dress circle, booklets in hand, they were ready to learn, reflect and take notes like pros.
The launch featured two speakers from the creative industries who shared insights on self-marketing and the wide range of careers behind the scenes. During the Q&A, one of our students confidently asked about turning motivation into real steps, setting the tone for an energised afternoon.
In workshops, students explored the art of networking, learning the HENRY introduction method before practicing goal-setting and pitching with each other. Two of our students even headed down to the main stage to deliver their pitches to the full auditorium, earning huge applause and showing remarkable confidence.
Before leaving, students reflected on the five core skills they will develop throughout the programme. As the final school dismissed, the facilitators gave our group a special shout-out for their energy, curiosity and engagement.
From reconnecting with former theatre mentors to discussing personal career ambitions, the day crackled with discovery. Next up: Old Vic facilitators will visit our school in November for a follow-up workshop.
