A note from Ms Peucker: 

Last week marked a huge milestone for our GCA Girls Football Team, who proudly represented the Academy at the Alessia Russo Foundation Cup, hosted in partnership with Sky Sports and Adidas.

Eight of our girls were selected to compete against over 180 players from schools across London and beyond, showing real determination, teamwork, and resilience on and off the pitch. Although they were knocked out in the group stages, they kept their heads high, supported one another brilliantly, and embodied the true GCA spirit throughout the tournament.

Beyond the game, the girls had the unique opportunity to engage with the Alessia Russo Foundation, which is dedicated to empowering young women through sport, confidence, and leadership. They also got to step into the world of sports journalism, working alongside Sky Sports presenters to interview players and share their stories - an incredible experience that went far beyond football.

This event was not just about competition, but about representation, opportunity, and growth. The girls made us all proud - and this is just the beginning!
