Back to newsOne GCA Community: Past and Present Students Making Waves Together
17th Sep 2026A huge well done to Amphiny (Year 10) and GCA alumna Jessye, who represented the school brilliantly at Ocean Village in Southampton.
Amphiny and Jessye delivered an after-dinner talk to representatives for leading multi-national IT and business organisations, sharing their experiences and the impact that sailing can have on young people.
The event raised essential funds for the Scaramouche Sailing Trust, helping to support and run GCA’s sailing programme and create opportunities for more young people to get out on the water, develop confidence and learn new skills.
The evening also featured an impressive charity auction, with prizes ranging from a week’s skiing for six people to Premier League footballs.
Both Amphiny and Jessye were articulate, confident and fantastic ambassadors for GCA. A very well-deserved well done to them both!
