20th Aug 2026There was plenty to celebrate at GCA this GCSE Results Day as our students marked the end of an important chapter and looked ahead to exciting new opportunities.
From continuing their studies at GCA to progressing to colleges and specialist courses, we are incredibly proud of the ambition, resilience and hard work shown by our students.
Laiyna is heading to Woodhouse College, where she plans to study Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Maths. She reflected on the challenges of mastering new topics and found textbooks and past papers particularly valuable in preparing for her exams.
Elif will be staying at GCA to study Art, Photography and Business Studies. She highlighted making friends and Leavers’ Day as some of her most memorable moments and found revision videos particularly useful when preparing for her GCSEs.
Khyran is also continuing at GCA, studying Economics, Personal Finance and Design Technology. A standout memory was the school trip to China, which encouraged him to step outside his comfort zone and experience a different culture. His advice to future GCSE students is simple: make time to revise and take your studies seriously.
Dimitri was pleased with some particularly strong results in English Literature and Drama. His top tip for younger students is to start studying early, and he is now looking forward to continuing his education.
Filip is progressing to study Electrical Engineering. Alongside his results, he is especially proud of the friendships he made at school and credits his family with helping him stay motivated throughout his studies.
Erdem was delighted with some welcome surprises in his results and will stay at GCA to study Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Physics. He gave special thanks to Mr Ncubefor his support with Maths.
Bronte was thrilled with her results and particularly proud of achieving a fantastic Grade 8 in Mandarin. She will go on to study Animal Science at Capel Manor College and praised the support she received from teachers, both in lessons and through sport. Her advice? Start revising early and listen to your teachers!
Elif was also pleased to achieve results that were better than she expected in several subjects. Looking back, she says the friendships she formed made her time at school particularly memorable and thanked both staff and fellow students for their support and encouragement.
GCSE Results Day is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate not only academic achievements but also the friendships, confidence and determination our students have developed along the way.
