Physics Success: Ceylin Takes First Place at Oxford Physics Olympiad Taster Day!

17th Jun 2026

A Message from Ms Cooper, Head of Year 10....

I am delighted to share some fantastic news about one of our Year 10 students, Ceylin.

Many of you will know Ceylin as a member of our inaugural Year 10 Ambassador cohort. Since joining the programme, she has consistently demonstrated the qualities we strive to nurture in our student leaders: commitment, curiosity, resilience and ambition.

On Saturday, Ceylin chose to dedicate part of her weekend to attending the Oxford British Physics Olympiad Taster Day, an academic enrichment opportunity for students with a passion for science. Competing alongside students from across the country, Ceylin achieved an exceptional result, with her group being awarded first place in the practical experimental challenge.

In recognition of this outstanding achievement, she received a Certificate and Prize for Best Experimental Work, alongside her certificate of participation.

What makes this accomplishment particularly special is not only the high level of challenge and academic rigour associated with the Physics Olympiad programme, but also Ceylin’s willingness to give up her own time to pursue her love of learning. Her success is a testament to her hard work, enthusiasm and determination to make the most of every opportunity available to her.

Please join me in congratulating Ceylin on this remarkable achievement. She is a wonderful ambassador for our school, and we are incredibly proud of all that she has accomplished.
