12th Feb 2026This half term, our Sixth Form artists travelled to Florence to experience some of the most important works of the Renaissance firsthand. The visit brought their classroom learning to life and offered valuable inspiration for their own creative practice.
Students explored the world-famous Uffizi Gallery, viewing masterpieces by Botticelli, Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci, before visiting the Galleria dell’Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David. The group also discovered the magnificent Duomo di Firenze, climbing Giotto’s Bell Tower for breathtaking views across the city.
A walk across the historic Ponte Vecchio completed a memorable programme, giving students a deeper appreciation of Florence’s rich artistic heritage.
The trip was an inspiring and enriching experience, and our students represented the school with enthusiasm and maturity throughout.
