Last week GCA hosted the Haringey Regional Final of the Jack Petchey 'Speak Out' Challenge.
It was a seriously impressive event - run with slickness and professionalism by the Petchey folk - with Keilani 10CB, Rochelle 10AP and William 10AP all speaking with power and poise alongside some stiff speaking competition from across Haringey. In addition, Chaomel Y11 and William Y10 performed a breath-taking rendition of 'Summertime' as interval entertainment and Mr Bird gave the welcome address.
Despite it being very much an event that was all about the participation, Keilina managed to clinch 3rd place! Woop!
Thank you to the English Department for all your help and support; to Mr Mishra for bringing the music together with such class and also to the canteen for working overtime and making sure people were fed and happy. Also, thank you to our student volunteers (big shout out to Alex and Charlie 8BH for also being time-keepers for the competition!).
