The new Year 7 recruits have donned the beekeeping suits for the first time and been shown the ropes by our Chief Beekeeper Mr. Porter.

We now have four hives up and running, absolutely buzzing with activity. We think this means that we are home to approximately 12,000 - 15,000 bees

At this time of year pupils get to sample a good bit of the honey built up over the summer months and get the hives ready to be strong enough to survive the winter, and then on to wildflower planting!
