Science is on fire this year!

After the huge success of our Y7 & Y8 Lab Rats Science Club, we are back—this time with an additional club: the Young Scientists Club (YSC)!

YSC is designed for Y9 & Y10 students and takes a project-based approach. Each project is led and overseen by a member of the Science team.

Our very first project is a fizzy drink investigation. After researching recipes, our 37 members created their own drinks today. Now we’ll patiently wait for fermentation to work its magic. Bottle one will be opened next Tuesday, and bottle two the following week. The young scientists will then carry out a series of experiments to test whether their drinks have the fizz and shelf life of a successful soft drink.

Thanks to our friends in Food Tech, the students will also get to taste their creations (since lab-made drinks can’t be consumed).
