Young Botanists Shine Bright at Kew Gardens

14th Jul 2025

A note from Mrs Conte:

The students were an absolute credit to the school – they behaved exceptionally well throughout the day, engaged enthusiastically, and truly made the most of the experience. During the Plant Reproduction workshop, they impressed the facilitator so much with their responses that she commented some of the answers were at A-level standard – and these were Year 7 and 8 students!

It was clear that they were drawing not only from their science lessons but also from what they’ve learned in the Bee Club and Botanical Club. Their thoughtful, clever answers really stood out and showed just how much they’ve absorbed and how curious they are.

It felt like we were having a science lesson in the middle of the most beautiful garden – a perfect combination of learning and wonder. I’m incredibly proud of them, and I know the day will stick with them for a long time.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible – and a special thank you to Ms Naidoo for organising it all!
