STEM Rocket Club visited the National Physics Laboratory

20th Jun 2019

Year 7 rocket club members visited the National Physics Laboratory yesterday to launch the rockets they built last week.

It was the twentieth anniversary of the NPL water rocket competition; 45 teams took part from across London and one team came all the way from Madrid to compete. Two Y7 teams took part. They had to land their rockets in certain zones to stand a chance to get on the leader board. NPL launched its own rocket which consisted of over hundred water bottles; after several failed attempts it was successfully launched. The teams hope that after getting some ideas from competing teams at the event they will be able to make their own launcher next year.
