Why you should join GCA's sixth form
As one of our sixth formers you will enjoy a structured and stimulating learning experience as well as the support of teachers and your friendship groups.
We offer a wide range of A and AS Level GCEs and BTEC Level 3 courses as well as a number of Level 2 courses.
Our well-established links with universities across the country will give you opportunities to learn more about the realities of higher education. In the last year, university open days, Saturday schools, master classes and summer schools in subjects as varied as classics, medicine, psychology, law, performing arts, engineering and oceanography have helped our students decide on courses and prepared them for the application process.
As a member of the Chrysalis Partnership hosted by Highgate School, we offer subject-specific extension work for those applying to highly selective universities.
The majority of our students apply to university after completing their A Levels. Please see our alumni page for the types of courses recent leavers have gone on to.
In 2019, all of our students who applied were offered and took up a place at their first choice university.
Throughout your time with us you will be supported by tight monitoring and personalised study programmes. Individual mentoring is provided not only by teachers but also by professionals and undergraduates in fields related to your career choice. Our sixth formers appreciate the value of the work shadowing and internship opportunities the school seeks out for them.
Winning a place with a company usually involves undertaking rigorous assessments and it is testament to our students’ determination that they have an extremely high success rate.
We take pride in our sixth formers’ individual achievements and value the way they contribute enthusiastically to the school community – helping younger students with their learning, leading on the school’s work with charities, running enrichment activities and helping set high standards for younger students to emulate.
