Key Stage 5

The Academy aims to create a post-16 curriculum that offers a wide range of courses at level 3 and also meets the requirement that students retake GCSE in English and maths if a grade 4 has not been achieved.

Academic and vocational courses will ensure that the offer available to our students remains broad and balanced and also attractive to students joining us from other institutions.  Initially students are encouraged to take at least four subjects with the possibility of combining A level and other courses if appropriate.

Additionally all students will follow a programme of Personal Development including Ethics.  This programme aims to build on work in the previous five years, allowing students the opportunities to acquire new skills, including further work experience. All students are individually mentored through the UCAS application process.

Support is given to every student in terms of their post-18 choices in order to maximise their success and to make practical the aim that they fulfil their genuine academic potential.
