Back to AnnouncementsAmber Weather Warning - arrangements for tomorrow, Friday 10th July 2026
8th Jul 2026Dear Parents and Carers,
You may be aware that an Amber Heat Health Alert has been issued for London from 9:00am on Wednesday 8 July until 9:00am on Sunday 12 July.
The academy has decided to allow students to leave school at 1.10 pm on Friday, 10th July.
At the end of Period 4, students will be dismissed from class and head directly home. We hope this alleviates any concerns about classroom temperatures in the afternoon.
The temporary adjustments to our uniform expectations will remain in place for tomorrow. Students will therefore not be required to wear blazers or ties.
In addition, students may choose to wear their full school PE kit. However, if a student does not have the complete school PE kit available, they should attend in the relaxed school uniform outlined above. Students must not wear alternative sportswear, branded clothing, leggings, tracksuit bottoms, hoodies, or any other items that are not part of the approved school PE kit or school uniform. Any prohibited items brought into school or worn during the day will be confiscated in line with our usual expectations.
If students choose to wear PE kit, we ask that parents ensure that clothing is washed, clean, and suitable for school each day. This will also help ensure that students remain prepared and have appropriate kit available for Sports Day next week.
To help students remain safe and comfortable during the hot weather, we ask that they:
- Apply sun cream before coming to school.
- Bring a refillable water bottle and drink water regularly throughout the day.
- Wear either the relaxed school uniform or full school PE kit correctly and appropriately.
- Make use of shaded areas and follow staff guidance during breaks and lunchtimes.
We will continue to review the situation daily and will communicate any further changes should the forecast or official guidance change.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Kind regards,
Mr Coleman
