Why work with us?

GCA staff work hard to ensure that students are challenged and stimulated and they are keen to work with new colleagues who are just as enthusiastic as they are about passing on a love of learning.

They will inspire and challenge you but, in turn, they will welcome the ideas you bring for departmental and school improvement.

You will be encouraged to lead on projects in and out of the classroom and your efforts will always be recognised and appreciated.  All our staff run at least one extra-curricular activity.  Robotics, rocketry, coding and electric car racing, sports, sailing, drama, music, art, public speaking, enterprise and animation feature strongly and we are keen to develop new activities for our very enthusiastic students so let us know your ideas.

There are lots of opportunities to share good practice, for example our Teaching and Learning Café, where you can present your ideas on the topic of the week and listen to the ideas of your colleagues.

Teachers will be able to apply for one of our Learning Awards up to an annual value of £2,400, which could enable you to develop particular talents or skills. Other benefits for all staff include cycle to work and childcare voucher schemes.

We aim to help you to achieve a positive work-life balance and welcome your ideas as to how we can best support you to do so.

Of course, we know that you enjoy working with young people and want to make a difference to their lives.  We will give you the best possible chance to do so.

We could say a lot more but we think the best way for you to get a feel for what it would be like to work for GCA is to pay us a visit. Viv Oxley, PA, HR and Administration Manager, would be happy to arrange for you to talk to students and staff so do give her a call on 020 8609 0175.
