Year 10 Work Experience - additional information
Monday 21st March 2022
This is to inform you that your child completed the first stage of their Year 10 Work Experience on Friday 18th March 2022.
Due to ongoing COVID 19 restrictions within workplaces, we provided an alternative work experience comprised of virtual sessions with various employers and career pathways. These remote sessions occurred during and after National Careers Week intending to inform your child of a diverse range of professions they can aspire to.
Your child will still be engaged in a series of Work Experience activities which are required for them to be awarded their Work Experience certificate. Activities will include:
Completing four Passports (Booklets) – please see titles below:
- Year 10 JED Work Experience Passport - Task 1
- Year 10 FutureLearn: Digital Skills for Work and Life Passport - Task 2
[This is linked to the Digital Skills for Work and Life online course provided by FutureLearn and accredited by Accenture. Upon completion, all students will receive a CPD: Continuing Professional Development qualification and certificate]
- Year 10 Speakers for Schools Work Experience Placements Passport – Task 4
- Year 10 Careers Networking Event Passport - Task 3
Students are aware that guidance for these tasks can be found on Microsoft Teams.
Despite the current restrictions on in-person work experience opportunities, we are still working hard to arrange socially distanced in-person encounters with employers and employees in line with Careers and Education Guidance requirements from the Department for Education, OFSTED, and Gatsby Benchmarks 2, 4, 5 and 6.
In addition to the above, this provision is also in accordance with the Careers Education and Guidance section on the school’s website.
Please encourage your child to complete these tasks. Deadlines to be confirmed.
