We are concerned that a large number of our students who have a right to free school meals are not claiming them. On 10 January we sent out a letter to all parents and carers to remind them that they may be eligible to claim free school meals for their children. A copy of the letter is attached below at 'Download Document'.
Thank you to all those parents and carers who have sent back their reply slip. If you have not already sent your reply in please do so as soon as possible. If you are eligible but do not want your child to have a school meal we would ask you still to complete the reply slip and send it back to us because the school receives additional funding for every child entitled to a free school meal whether he/she actually has the meal or not. This additional funding is important for the school.
If you decide to apply for free school meals, you need to complete the form produced by the local authority (Council) in which you live and return it directly to that local authority. You can find the Haringey form and help in completing it on the Haringey Council website: http://www.haringey.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals.htm
If you live in another borough, please contact your own local authority.
Thank you for your cooperation.
