Roughshod - making us think

In the last week in May, Riding Lights Roughshod Theatre Company made Years 9 and 10 students think about our physical and social environment and reflect on Christian principles in a series of entertaining and often moving sketches.  A humorous take on a weather forecast brought home to the audience how easily we in the rich countries of the northern hemisphere can turn a blind eye to the effects of climate change and poverty in developing countries.  A father’s account of his daughter’s death for the want of a re-hydration sachet costing just a few pence had audience members moving from laughter to a thoughtful silence.  With big thanks to Roughshod for pricking our conscience so forcibly.
