We know you expect a lot of us and want to be well informed about policies and practice that affect your child. Please contact staff about any relevant matters; you will find them receptive to suggestions. Teachers will contact you by telephone or in writing when they want to tell you that your child has done well or if there is any cause for concern. Teachers are in class for most of the day and not always immediately available to speak to you. If you wish to speak to a member of staff, please call 8609 0100. If the member of staff is not available at the time, reception staff will ensure they pass on a message to call you back as soon as possible.
"I have been very pleased with my son’s first year. The credit letters I have liked also the teachers calling if any problems, so matters can be dealt with immediately. (He has been) selected for high potential classes. He has been very happy in his first year." Year 7 parent
Parents are elected to the Governing Body and all parents are members of the Friends of GCA which organises events on topics such as homework, revision and the curriculum. Parents and carers are supportive of the Academy and we are keen to encourage even more of you to get involved. So, if you have time or a skill you can offer, we definitely want to hear from you. The next committee meeting of the Friends will be held on December 3 at 6pm at the school. This will be followed by a workshop on homework which is open to all parents. Join us to try out some of the online resources your son or daughter will be using at school and at home and to discuss how you can best support your child's learning. For information on the Friends contact us on 020 8609 0179 or at enquiries@greigcityacademy.co.uk.
