Toyota Challenge
May 2006
In spring 2006, GCA’s top Year 9 team competed against 166 other schools, colleges and universities in the Toyota Challenge, a national competition that pits school, colleges and universities against one another to test skills in building, programming and developing a robot.
The task was to build a vehicle that could move around a track detecting and avoiding obstacles in its path. The team designed and built a robotic vehicle using recycled and environmentally-friendly power sources.
GCA’s team got to the regional finals where they came a high-placed 4th. Here are some photos of the development stage.
