Admissions

We hope our prospectuses and what you see on this website will help you and your child make a decision about what is an important step in his or her education, whether that is the move from primary to secondary school or entry into the 6th form.

Year 7 entry, September 2012

Without reference to ability or aptitude, Governors offer 200 places each academic year for entry into Year 7.

We have already held our open evening and mornings.  If you were not able to join us and would like to visit the school, please contact our Admissions Officer, Eileen Ward, on 020 8609 0171 or by email at eward@greigcityacademy.co.uk

The Academy takes part in the Pan-London Coordinated Admissions Scheme.  To make an application, you need to complete your local authority’s form available from your child’s primary school or from the local authority itself .

If you are applying for a Foundation place, you will also need to complete the Greig City Academy Supplementary Information Form obtainable from the school or downloadable from this site.  If you are applying for an Open place you do not need to complete this form.  Click on the links on the right of this page to find out more about the admissions policy, Foundation and Open places and also how to apply.

6th form entry, September 2012

The open evening for internal applicants (current GCA students) will be held on Tuesday, November 22.  We have a limited number of places for external applicants. Prospectuses and application forms are available from the Academy.   Prospective students are invited to arrange an appointment to meet the Head of Sixth Form, tour the school and talk to students.  Please call the Head of Sixth Form, Mr Holt, on 020 8609 0132 to arrange a date and time.  If Mr Holt is unavailable, please leave a clear message with your name and contact details and he will return your call.  Alternatively, use the contact page on this site to ask for an appointment.

Other year and in-year entry

For entry into Years 8-11 or for entry during the school year, in the first instance, please contact Haringey Admissions Service on 020 8489 3338 or your own local authority if you live outside Haringey.  As from September, 2010, local authorities are co-ordinating in-year admissions. The Academy will keep Haringey informed of places available but Haringey Admissions, or your own authority if you live outside Haringey, will be the body informing you of a place.

We very much look forward to receiving your application.
