UK Robot Skills Champions

2nd Mar 2020

Congratulations to GCA Roboteers, who won the UK Robot Skills Championship at the UK National Finals this weekend. Max, Mitchell, Umar, Ervans and Erik Palushi, all Year 13, demonstrated real professionalism and focus to achieve this against fierce competition from 60 other school many of which are past national and international award winners.

The Roboteers have qualified to represent the UK at the VEX International Finals in Kentucky in April. They have worked incredibly hard all year to make sure that their robot worked perfectly and have had the highest scoring robot in the national competition this year. The team also secured the Amaze award (for a team with an amazing, well-rounded, and top performing robot) and were asked to put their robot through its paces in front of the entire competition during the awards ceremony.

Well done also to Chromagicals, Erlind and Arnas, who reached the final of the Finals and won second place in the UK Robot Skills championship.

They have also qualified to represent the United Kingdom at the International finals in the USA in April.

The Roboteers stayed on after their competition to manage and umpire the VEX IQ competition - for the second year running.
